Casa Lella
My wife, May Vera, and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary on July 3 this year. As a gift given to us by our family a trip to Spain, and not only ride, but they traveled with us. Our goal was Andalucia, Spain, and the house we were staying in was Casa Lella in Velez Malaga. A house with not only a lot of space, but also a great "soul". Simply a house that it is good to live in. For our family it is a very important part of the comfort of living at the house we live in has a good atmosphere. House soul is created by the people who have lived in the house before, but certainly also by those who live in the house today. The important thing is that the convenient facilities works. And it makes it so absolutely in Casa Lella. First you enter into a large arrival hall with a large wide staircase up to the remaining two floors. The kitchen with a large double gas hob and hypermodern fridge and freezer. A long table, ideal for big meals with room for 12 to 13 people around the table. The extension of the kitchen continues into the next room with a sofa and fireplace. Outside a patio with a small swimming pool and plenty of space for barbecues that we have used. Bedrooms and bathrooms are remodeled so that the old house is preserved, but where they also have modernized the house. Especially wooden floors in the bedrooms provide a much warmer effect when you are out of bed and put your feet on the floor instead of whether you should put your feet on the cold tiles. The hosts, Antte and Jonas have a local knowledge about Velez Malaga which is very good help when days should plan. Their knowledge of the local shops and not least eateries are invaluable. They may also be engaged as guides on trips to neighboring areas, not least to the neighboring town of Torre del Mar Malaga. A seaside resort with a seafront promenade that is longer than what most cities in Spain can showcase. We committed them to a guided tour of Malaga where we among other visited the food market, Mercado Central Atarazanas. It was natural that we in the food market traded daily specials of both fruits, vegetables, seafood and meat. Then it is nice to have a kitchen at Casa Lella where we all 8 along with the hosts, Annette and Jonas, could be involved in creating a common meal on Saturday night. The good life in Andalucia is all about good food, drinks and socializing. It was an experience we had with us the next night, Sunday, when we visited the host regulars restaurant in Velez de Malaga, La Sastreria. Here were all the family with small children present late into the night to celebrate Sunday evening. Lovely! Starting from Casa Lella Velez de Malaga, there is easy access to several of the main tourist destinations in Andakucia. Cordoba, just 2 hours drive on excellent motorway. Here is the famous: Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba. An edifice so lavishly by the Muslim occupation of Andalusia, that Christians do not despair tear it but built a cathedral in the middle of the mosque. Cordoba, who in his time was the world's third-largest city after, Baghdad and Alexandria, also has many other attractions. It is called the "water city" and it is more visible proof of that in Cordoba. Maybe especially the still well preserved public baths. Granada is another city, only 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from Velez de Malaga. Borgen Alhambra, also a memory of the Muslims, is a building that deserves a separate trip. The surrounding Velez de Malaga is filled with ekstrordinære opportunities for experience: Flamenco, the Arab horses, olive groves, Spain's best dessert wines and teh local fresh Sherry, Manzanilla. Simply start planning many trips each with its own theme, and la Casa Lella be your natural home centrally located in Andalusia. Everyone in our family is at least agree that we have not had our last stay here in the house. I wish you a happy stay!
